#SevenThingsSunday – Week Two

It’s week two already and I’m “giving the shove” to a another seven items! In fact, I was so enthusiastic this time that I even picked out next week’s items (however, you have to wait for those). The fact that this is a bit too easy can only mean one thing: I’ve been a greedy little missus over the last few years. So, here are some more gluttonous past purchases from my closet.

1. Sell

This BCBG kaftan thing (I seriously don’t know what to call it) has never been worn. I love the mix of pale grey paisley and stripes but it just doesn’t do anything for me. It still has the tag so hopefully there’s a dollar or two to recoup here.

This Diane Von Furstenburg dress is next. It’s so not me – dresses cut on the bias are very pretty but, as I mentioned last week, I just don’t do floaty. I like structure and tailoring. Another mistake.

This green jacket has been worn about twice. I like the idea of it but, the colour isn’t really me and the fact that my husband can’t stand it means its time is up!

Now for something EMBARRASSING!!! These were bought for a costume party in 2006 – yes, catwoman. I totally forgot I even had them – they have been in the bottom of the closet for a while. Anyway, they’re real leather and were worn once (I promise) and so it’s time they got the boot. Ho ho!

2. Donate

Lastly, I’m getting rid of a job lot of TM Lewin shirts… two of them are a little tired looking hence the decision to donate rather than sell. I went through a bit of an androgynous phase back in London – cropped hair, fitted shirts and high heels.  They’re not really my look these days so time to offload them.

The lessons for this week are: “costume parties are best attended when you’re wearing borrowed outfits!” and, “once you know what suits you, just stick with it”!
